Groovy sterling silver, double-decker peace sign necklace. Mixed metal hardware detail and 16″ sterling silver ball chain. 1″ diameter. Unisex. Timeless.
Created Feb 21, 1958, the symbol was originally used by the Direct Action Committee Against Nuclear War (DAC). Shortly after, it was adopted as the international symbol of the 1960’s anti-war movement.
The symbol itself is a combination of the semaphoric symbols for “N” and “D” standing for Nuclear Disarmament. The semaphore system is used for conveying information at a distance by means of visual signals with hand-held flags, rods, disks, paddles, or occasionally bare or gloved hands.
A timeless symbol, the peace sign is one of the most widely known in the world.
This groovy, hand-crafted ‘peace’ is hand-crafted, specially, for you – by me – by hand.
